THAT ACREAGE LIFE // MINI SERIES: EPISODE FOUR
THAT ACREAGE LIFE - EP. 0004
Okay... most requested space to see is FINALLY here! You guys asked and we are sharing our 100% MOST used space on our acreage. We always knew we wanted an income suite on our property so when we combined it with our long term goal of a pool we got a space that we can use 365 days of the year! Now when you live in Saskatchewan this is VERY ideal because during a -40 snowstorm or a +40 summer day we can be having friends over to enjoy #thatacreagelife! 💦☀️or 🌨
THAT ACREAGE LIFE // MINI SERIES: EPISODE 3 - CORONAVATIONS
Now, let’s dive into the “Coronavations” episode. As I mentioned we wanted to jazz up our second floor and add some texture to the walls. These updates are generally pretty affordable to do, they just take time. We wanted to add some shiplap and wainscotting to the walls because the long hallway was lacking some interest. And the older multi-coloured slate fireplace was simple to update and made the biggest change in the bonus room.
THAT ACREAGE LIFE // MINI SERIES: EPISODE TWO
Before the acreage we lived in a bungalow and I quickly found I was definitely more of a 2 storey person. My favourite part is that the main floor can be neat and tidy for company and no one will know if the second floor is messy! Now that the kids are older I see the perks of a bungalow with a big finished basement so layout preference definitely changes depending where you’re at in life.
THAT ACREAGE LIFE // MINI SERIES: EPISODE ONE
Here we go Episode 1 - Main Floor! The doors are open to #thatacreagelife and we answer the question “what would you do?” It’s been a decade since we finished our own personal build journey but we’ve loved seeing our blood, sweat and tears turn into the space we have created. There are things we’d change, things we’d keep the same but we still love the space we call home. Here’s what we did on our main floor!
MONTHLY MORTGAGE TALK WITH MIKE
Lots of chatter on the changing CMHC lending rules that come into effect July 1, 2020. What does this mean? Is the sky falling? Will you be able to afford your dream house? Mike and I chat about the 3 main changes and what they will mean for the average buyer in the video!
THAT ACREAGE LIFE // MINI SERIES: TRAILER
We are doing a mini series called That Acreage Life answering questions about what we put into our home when we built it 10 years ago! As a builder, some clients ask “What would you do?” and we thought it would be helpful to show you what we did when we started our family acreage 10 years ago. Styles have changed, trends have moved on and we’ve grown from young 20 somethings with a baby + toddler to our busy and grown up family of 5 today! Join us over the next few weeks for a behind the scenes look as we show you our fav parts, what we wished we did differently, where to splurge and where to save. Welcome to That Acreage Life! 🌾
SASKATCHEWAN INTRODUCES SALES TAX REBATE FOR NEW HOME SALES
Did you hear that the Saskatchewan government rolled out a PST rebate on new homes? Many people are wondering what this means when it comes to a new home purchase so our Trademark Controller, Ryan, put together some key points for you.
DESIGN TRENDS FOR A NEW DECADE // HELLO 2020
Everyone likes to make predictions in January on what we will see in the coming year. In design school everyone would be excited to see what the new Pantone Colour of The Year would be (which currently is Classic Blue, by the way) so I thought I would share some predictions on what I see happening in 2020 design wise. Now remember, these are just prediction. Everyone has their own design style and that is ok - there really is no right or wrong when it comes to design. Ultimately design can be whatever makes you happy and inspired.
CALLIA FLOWERS
Sometimes you meet someone and know that you want to hear more about what they are doing! That’s how I felt when I shared a panel at Passion & Purpose with Callia Flowers owner Catherine. This lady is SMART! She loves data, loves statistics, and growing her flower business. Anytime we can support other Canadian startup companies we are all in! Catherine is so passionate about her business. She knows her numbers inside and out and even recently received an offer from a Dragon on Dragon’s Den! Way to go girl!
TRADEMARK 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
grew up watching the Christmas specials of my favourite television shows… like Oprah’s Favourite Things and Ellen’s 12 Days of Christmas. And honestly it looked so fun to give back and be Santa to those around. In our October planning meeting, the idea came up to give back to the community who has supported us this past year. I knew that finally playing Oprah was the answer!
The thing is, we didn’t want to give just ANYTHING away, we wanted to continue the support local theme and introduce our instagram followers to other local companies that have supported us. We care about our businesses here in Regina. They’re our neighbours, their kids play on the same sports teams, and we likely run into each other at our favourite coffee shops here in town.
S I M P L I F Y // The Clutter Series - Preparing For Your Winter Holiday
I once told my friend “I always go on vacation with a clean house because if i die in an accident I don’t want people to think I live in a pigsty!” I think it’s kind of like the adult version of your mom saying to always wear clean underwear in case you’re in an accident (which I never understood because if that happened, that would be the least of my worries…) . But it’s true, before I leave on any trip I always clean my house from top to bottom. Aside from packing and double-checking your luggage, here are some helpful tips that you can use to get ready for a trip.
PASSION & PURPOSE YQR
Wow what a night! Let’s just say that Tia Getzlaf, aka Lady Getz, sure knows how to throw a party! An evening of networking, listening to inspiring panels, headshots, food and so much more! By the end of the evening my face hurt from smiling, my feet hurt from my cute Frye boots, and I was leaving feeling energized and ready to tackle some dreams!
